Mārtiņš Beitiņš Baltic a.k.a. Corey Jack Cooper (Music journalist and researcher): "You are well-known nude art photographer, but the other great part of Your career is tied with Music. Let's focus on that. What was Your first Professional experience in Music business?"
Roman Kasperski: "Well, music was always very important for me. In my teen years I played bass and keyboards in some unknown bands even without a names. Later I worked for a daily newspaper called NRZ - WAZ that often sent me to shoot concerts and sometimes to do interview portraits of Musicians."
Mārtiņš Beitiņš Baltic a.k.a. Corey Jack Cooper (Music journalist and researcher): "Please tell us how You came up with the concept of DOUBLE-CROSSER (27th October, 2006 / Seabound) cover art? Where was that photo shut and who are both male (Rene Moini?) and female models on it?"
Roman Kasperski: "The concept was developed together with the label Dependent Records (Stefan Herwig in particular) and the band. They wanted to create a mood of uncertainty and the un-good feeling when you think you are not alone in your room. We came to the idea that we melt a person into the wall. The male Model was Rene Moini and the girl was Drastique. We shot it at the beautiful house of a fellow photographer Wolfgang Eichler in Gelsenkirchen."
Mārtiņš Beitiņš Baltic a.k.a. Corey Jack Cooper (Music journalist and researcher): "One of the audio books with Your photo on the cover is titled Cool Jazz (2004 November / Stephan Peters). Who is on the cover (model's name?) and what is this book exactly about?
Roman Kasperski: "Model's name is Ilona ... rest is the secret ... I can tell You thou that she now lives in Switzerland. We took the picture out of the stock I had ... the book ... I don't really know what it is about."
Mārtiņš Beitiņš Baltic a.k.a. Corey Jack Cooper (Music journalist and researcher): "You've also made quite a few photo shoots for record label named dependent. What is Your connection with this company and a Belgian Electro-Industrial band called Suicide Commando?"
Roman Kasperski: "I was visiting discos like Zwischenfall, Old Daddy, Lurie and similar ones quite frequent and made some friends, one worked for dependent and made the connection. I was into Gothic and Industrial Music from early on. And when Suicide Commando needed a new art work I was very happy, when Stefan Herwig came to me for it. They had the concept album about serial killers and we could play around with a lot of gore in sinister places. Was fun to work with them."
Mārtiņš Beitiņš Baltic a.k.a. Corey Jack Cooper (Music journalist and researcher): "Jeff Koons and Cindy Sherman are one of Your influencers, but talking about Music ... who are Your favourite Music photographers overall?"
Roman Kasperski: "I like a lot what Anton Corbijn did, also David LaChapelle and Erwin Olaf, but they are not mainly Music photographers."
Mārtiņš Beitiņš Baltic a.k.a. Corey Jack Cooper (Music journalist and researcher): "Apparently You like Gothic culture ... why there's no Gothic Music photo work, just naked girls in Your portfolio? Still to come?
Roman Kasperski: "I'm working on a relaunch of the site that could show more variety, but to be honest Gothic Music was never my major topic, when it comes to photography."
