While working as Talent Acquisition Team and Music content Manager at café Ленинград (Kalēju street 54, The Old Town of Riga, Latvia), my company M&M's music management organized more than 150 Live gigs. 5th of the Saturday's LIVE Concert (Hard Rock band CROW MOTHER) series happened on August 4th, 2012. 

The following interview was conducted on August 1st, 2012!

Mārtiņš Beitiņš Baltic a.k.a. Corey Jack Cooper (Music journalist and researcher): "For CROW MOTHER this summer is richly filled with musical adventures ... from the latest concerts You played which are Your favourite ones?"  

Edijs Jurēvics a.k.a. Eddie Jurevics (lead vocalist): "Yes, summer was spent on the road quite often, with two splendid open-airs, ROK FESTIVĀLS PĪLĀDZIS and FONOFEST, among other things. Both events had that fantastic sense that made us open ourselves and become even more close to audience, since we position ourselves as a band that doesn't avoid from its listeners. After the show we undoubtedly go into public and have fun altogether. At ROK FESTIVĀLS PĪLĀDZIS and FONOFEST sound quality was excellent, despite the weather that oftenly changed, and we noticed that it doesn’t matter either it’s sun that shines our it is raining, there were people in front of the stage ... they were with us and our Music. Anyways, big thanks to organizers of those two festivals and technical crew, since nothing would happen without them."

Corey Jack Cooper (Music journalist and researcher): "This spring, in may, second single, composition entitled Sugar, Blood & Wine, was published ... just like your debut release Killing the Love, this song also is recorded under guidance of producer Andris Bergmanis a.k.a. Zazists ... 

Edijs Jurēvics a.k.a. Eddie Jurevics (lead vocalist): "Work on recordings without Zazists wouldn’t be imaginable, he is the master of his craft and, what’s even more important, he is sincere and cruel. Very thing we as CROW MOTHER like, because there is no point in working out structure of the song if it’s not full-fledged, we polish our tracks till such stage when there’s no opposition concerning the sound or overall quality of the composition. Andris was, is and will be CROW MOTHER’s record producer. Best regards to him, good luck in his efforts and let Rock 'n' Roll always be with him."

Mārtiņš Beitiņš Baltic a.k.a. Corey Jack Cooper (Music journalist and researcher): "This Saturday, August 4th, you will perform at the Old Town of Riga café Ленинград ... what is that crowd must be prepared for / what's on Your setlist?"  

Edijs Jurēvics a.k.a. Eddie Jurevics (lead vocalist): "For this event we are preparing programme, that consist mostly of our original music and of course, there will be some more famous tunes from répertoire of The Darkness, Jet and The Raconteurs. It is possible that you’ll hear stuff of our newest creativity, but will be sure about that only on the evening of the show."

Edijs Jurēvics a.k.a. Eddie Jurevics (lead vocalist): "Fundamentally, material is almost done, now efforts are made to polish recorded songs and improve some of our new compositions. Naturally, we can not talk about release date yet, since we don't know ourselves how much more time will we need for studio works and processes of producing, but this is our year’s Nr. 1 Plan."

Edijs Jurēvics a.k.a. Eddie Jurevics (lead vocalist): "You know, I guess You are new Nostradamus! At this point it’s kind of a secret and we’re planing it as a surprise to our listeners. No more comments on this one, let the Intrigue remain."

Viena no vizuāli gaumīgāk noformētajām un Muzikāli saturiski pilnvērtīgākajām platēm, manā (pašu Mākslinieku dāvināto) albumu fonotēkā, nešaubīgi, ir grupa marta 2011. gada 6. augustā Viesturdārza svētkos (Rīgā) prezentētais kvarteta debijas studijas ieraksts Pasaki martai, lai ir uz vadiem (self-released). Šī kompaktdiska 1. kompozīcija, ar nosaukumu Aplis, savulaik bija viens no tiem izšķirošajiem faktoriem, kas mani tomēr nosvēra par labu Stylo (Baltic) Awards izveidei, kur kopā ar saviem kolēģiem (Mūzikas žurnālsitiem, vērtētājiem un pētniekiem) apkopojam visu to labāko, kas beidzamo 123 gadu laikā (kopš Jazz / Waltz pianista Oskara Stroka dzimšanas) ir tapis Baltijas ierakstu studijās, mēģinājumu telpās, redakcijās un citās taustāmās un ēteriskās vietās, kur mīt Svētās Cecīlijas aizbilstamie. Konkrēto treku esam nominējuši 50 Greatest Baltic Indie Rock Songs of All Time sarakstam. Nedaudz paturpinot par pašu albumu, jāpiemin, ka tā nofurmējuma autors ir grupas basists un diplomēts (maģistra grāds / Latvijas Mākslas akadēmija) grafikas dizainers Matīss Zvaigzne, bet tajā iekļautās bildes ir uzņēmis mākslas fotogrāfs Didzis Grodzs. Nominācijā 50 Greatest Baltic Indie Rock Drum Performances of All Time, savukārt, esam izvirzījuši treku Nr. 10, proti, Māsiņa ar Dmitrija Frolova eksplozīvajām ritam partijām.

New Wave grupas Blondie soliste Debija Harija bija viesmīle Ņujorkas naktsklubā max's kansas city, dziesminieks Deivs Metjūzs agrāk jauca kokteiļus Virdžīnijas štata Šarlotsvilas bārā Miller's Downtown, Rock dueta The White Stripes bundziniece Mega Vaita gatavoja dzērienus Rojalokas (Mičiganas štats) barbekjū restorānā MEMPHIS SMOKE, savukārt, The Bruce Willis Blues Band līderis salēja šotus Ņujorkas klubā Kamikaze. Tieši šajā iestādē, kur kolēģi viņu mīļi esot dēvējuši par Bruno, vēlākais Cietā rieksta kungs, kādu jauku vakaru arī saņēma ilgi gaidīto piedāvājumu uzņemties lielajā kino, proti, sīciņā epizodē (vīrs kurš ienāk pa durvīm) 1980. gada trillerī The First Deadly Sin ar Frenku Sinatru galvenajā lomā. Arī pašmāju talantīgie bārmeņi-Mūziķi nesnauž. Mārtiņš Vaters (vīna bārs VIETA) kopā ar savu grupu INDYGO līdz šim ir izdevuši jau divas pilnās studijas plates THE BEST OF (2005 / Raibā Taureņa Ieraksti) un DECOY (2013 / self-released), Aldis Zariņš (StoneStep un Cilvēks ar Putniņu) šiverē pa savu Get Smart Cafe, kolektīva Lietotas Mēbeles no Holandes bundzinieks Edgars Roga rūpējās par viesiem Teātra bārā, un, visu beidzot, Kristaps Krēsliņš (Mācītājs on Acid) ir VecRīgas kroga APTIEKA īpašnieks.

Март 27-ой, 2009 год - ЛЯПИС Трубецкой, белорусская Ska/Punk/Rock группа, выпускает дебютный DVD под названием ПАРАД-АЛЛЕ (Фирма Грамзаписи НИКИТИН). Презентация долгожданного релиза с коллекцией клипов Минского коллектива прошла 27-го и 28-го марта 2009 года в Московском клубе IKRA. В подарочное издание этого цифрового многоцелевого дискa также входят альбомы КАПИТАЛ (2007 год / Фирма Грамзаписи НИКИТИН) и MANIFEST (25-го сентября, 2008 года / Фирма Грамзаписи НИКИТИН) с неиздававшихся ранее бонус-треками (Капитал [Noize MC Rmx], Капитал [1915 Igor Vdovin Mix] + Черно-Белый День, Государство). Данное издание является вторым собранием клипов в истории группы после видео альбома в формате VHS ВСЕМ ДЕВЧОНКАМ НРАВИТСЯ (2000 год / СОЮЗ). 17 промо роликов для ПАРАД-АЛЛЕ были лично отобраны фронтменом группы Сергеем Михалком.

Волгонавты

Если Вы являетесь одним из тех меломанов которым творчество Верки Сердючки кажется слишком уж попсовым а рокенрол банда Ленинград чересчур пантовой, в таком случае, Музыка коллектива ВИА Волга-Волга, как раз является золотой серединой между двумя выше назваными и Вам придется по вкусу. Для первого ознакомления с этим развеселим оркестром из столицы Республики Татарстан Казани, што, как мы помним из уроков географии, находица на берегу главного водянова бренда России, реки Волги, я бы порекомендовал именно с альбома 2012 года под названием Волгонавты. В этом диске Вы найдете 12, хотя бы отделена но несомненно знакомых, композиций таких исполнителей как - Вера Брежнева, Алла Пугачёва, Серебро, МакSим, Борис Моисеев, Олег Газманов, Руки Вверх!, Владимир Пресняков, Катя Лель, София Ротару, Алёна Апина и The Champs - в заводных Ska аранжировках. Чтобы внести кристальную ясность еще только добавлю то что у этого состава есть и предостаточно оригинального материала премиум класса.

Question: Was there a specific moment when you knew Hey There Delilah was going to be huge? Tom Higgenson (lead vocalist of Plain White T's): “There was a show in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA that we played on the 4th of July (at Summerfest 2007 / please follow this link to watch above mentioned performance) ... kind of a summer, weeklong fest where they had bands playing every night. We went on, and there were almost 10.000 people at our stage. It's one of those moments where we go onstage and look at each other like - 'Whoa! This is what it means to have a hit song!' … that was kind of the first moment that we actually understood it!”

Uldis Ozoliņš

Since 1998 up to recently each Sunday on Latvijas Radio 2 there was two hours long show called Kantrī mūzikas raidījums (meaning - Country Music program - in Latvian), hosted by prominent and Musically well educated Uldis Ozoliņš (producer and creator of annual Bauska Country Music Festival and president of Latvian Country Music Association). It's weird thou, that nobody considered it to be strange, that on the air of radio, that position itself as the only local Music station (being publicly owned media - by the way) in the world, that spins just strictly selected local songs by extremely mainstream local performers (mostly Pop, Schlager and 'rural amateur' type of Music), for more than a decade, such a narrowly-tailored U.S.-based art form that is one-hundred-percent sung in English language, was so widely and professionally popularized. Country Music is excellent and Mr. Ozoliņš is great, but, come on - what the Huck? ... LR2 - maybe for next decade you should consider to create daily Step Dance or Capoeira show, just in case, we know some splendid dabsters of those things!
